University of South Carolina Martin Luther King Day Social Justice Award

Applications and nominations are now being accepted for the Martin Luther King Day Social Justice Award! This award recognizes individuals who have exemplified the philosophies of Dr. King through random or ongoing acts of community service, social justice or racial reconciliation. Social justice is thought of as a world which affords individuals and groups fair treatment and an impartial share of the benefits of society. It also can refer to the distribution of advantages and disadvantages within a society.

Faculty, staff and students are eligible for nomination and application. The selection committee will choose one student, one faculty member, and one staff member who have made outstanding accomplishments and general impact in the areas of community service, racial reconciliation or social justice outreach.
