USC Student Affairs and Academic Support’s publication “Causerie” received a national NASPA Silver Excellence Award from the nation’s leading association for the advancement, health and sustainability of the student affairs profession.
The annual NASPA Excellence Awards honor “outstanding programs, innovative services and effective administration” at colleges and universities across the United States.
“Causerie,” a data-driven quarterly newsletter primarily for USC faculty, highlights topics of institutional importance and describes student-focused programs and services, as well as evidence of their effectiveness. The publication demonstrates Student Affairs and Academic Support’s impact on student success and, with its assessment-based approach, supports faculty in better serving students.
“‘Causerie’ has earned a special place on the desk—and in the hands—of faculty, professional staff, top administrators, deans, department heads and others,” Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies Helen Doerpinghaus said. “The newsletter meets an informational need and enables us all to do a better job of delivering on the promise of academic success to our students.”
“Causerie” was honored in the Administrative, Assessment, Information Technology, Fundraising, Professional Development and Related category.
