USC Study Abroad Fair set for Feb. 5, 2013

USC’s Study Abroad Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Russell House Ballroom. The fair, hosted annually by the Study Abroad Office, combines Study Abroad Office staff, program representatives and experienced students for a comprehensive information event about education abroad.

Students interested in studying abroad can find out all they need to know while visiting the fair. Information on summer, semester and academic year programs will be available, as well as resources addressing scholarships, financial aid and course credit concerns.

Program representatives from more than 35 countries will attend along with numerous USC academic departmental representatives. USC faculty will be available to discuss their faculty-led global classroom programs, including a three-week summer course in Taiwan, a service-learning program in Africa and an Honors College program in Austria. Students also have the opportunity to speak with peers who have studied abroad in the past as well as international exchange students from USC’s Global Exchange partner schools.

Last year,

• 1,117 undergraduate students participated in education abroad
• 58 countries were visited, with England as the most popular destination
• $604,260 in education abroad scholarships were awarded to USC students
• 29 Global Classroom Programs were led by USC faculty members

For students already planning their trip abroad or for those who have no idea where they want to go, the Study Abroad Fair is the perfect way to kick-start their experience overseas.
