“We have had a recent influx of sidewalk chalking incidents around the Russell House by student organizations/university departments advertising their events. Please let anyone you know who you advise that this is not an acceptable form of advertising as it violates the university posting policy. This also causes strain on our grounds and custodial staff who have to clean the ground (which can damage the bricks) but also the floors inside buildings where chalk residue is tracked.
Violators of this policy may be sent through the university judicial process or issued a citation from campus police.
Please visit the university policy, STAF 3.11 below, as well as the Russell House webpage that offers several different options for advertising within and around the Russell House. Thank you for helping to spread the word about pertinent university policies that impact the look and feel of our university and the daily work of our community.
