USC Stand For Freedom

We are planning an 27 hour event on March 6th-7th starting at 9 am and ending at 12 pm on campus through CAST (Carolina Against Sex Trafficing). We are raising awareness that slavery still exists in the world and helping to raise funds for IJM (International Justice Mission). IJM is human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments to ensure victim rescue, to prosecute perpetrators and to strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.

We are getting multiple organizations involved and aware to stand for however many hours they are willing to commit to. We want students to get involved and come STAND with us to shed light on the fact that slavery still exists in the world and that we can do something about it now to end it. Sign up to STAND with us at ijm.org/stand and learn more about it. We are also on Facebook, our group name is USC Stand for Freedom.
