Bethany Naser will be joining the University of South Carolina as director of orientation and testing.
Bethany currently serves as assistant dean of students and director of new student and sophomore programs at Georgia Tech. In this role, Bethany provides strategic oversight and leadership to a comprehensive transition program. She has expanded the office to increase institutional focus on second-year students, implemented an extended orientation experience (Wreck Camp) and enhanced the office’s student leadership development programs.
Over the past 10 years, Bethany has built a career focused on first-year and sophomore experience programming, tradition/transition camps, college student adjustment, leader training and development and social justice education. Highly involved in the National Orientation Directors Association (NODA), Bethany has held numerous leadership roles including co-hosting the association’s annual conference in 2011.
Bethany earned a bachelor’s in psychology/speech communications and a master’s in higher education administration with a specialization in student affairs from Texas A&M University. After completing her graduate studies at Texas A&M, Bethany worked in the new student programming areas at both Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas.
Outside of her professional interests and involvements, Bethany enjoys college football, the performing arts, spending time with family and friends and exploring new places and restaurants.
