OMSA Awards Extended Deadline

Please nominate eligible and deserving students for an OMSA Award that recognizes students for their achievements and contributions in academics, leadership, service, and diversity initiatives. Please visit http://www.sa.sc.edu/omsa/opportunities-a-scholarships/ to nominate students for any of the awards listed below. Nominations are due Tuesday, April 2, 2013.

Changing the Face of USCDiversity Award: This award recognizes students who promote awareness of cultural and diversity issues on campus and in the community and have a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average.

Ralph E. Johnson Exemplary Leadership Award: This award is given to students who are recognized as outstanding leaders and demonstrate involvement in campus activities with a cumulative 2.5 grade point average.

Willie L. Harriford Outstanding Service Award:

This award recognizes a student who serves to encourage students to actively seek opportunities to address and serve the needs of the African-American community as well as the Columbia community in its entirety with a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average.

I. DeQuincey Newman Outstanding Student Award:

This award recognizes a senior who has displayed leadership, participated in university and community organizations and activities, and contributes to the improvement of minority student life at USC with a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average. These are not necessarily student officers, but are leaders through their actions.
