USC’s Healthy Carolina initiative won the American College Health Association Best Practices Award in Health Education and Promotion Services for exemplary, innovative and inspirational practices.
The Best Practices in College Health Award recognizes exemplary, innovative and inspirational practices in one of four major areas of college health: 1) clinical services; 2) counseling services; 3) administrative and consumer services and 4) health education and promotion services.
While the award was specifically awarded to Healthy Carolina, the award also recognizes events, services and programs within other departments, including USC’s Student Health Services, Campus Wellness, the Counseling and Human Development Center, Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention, among others.
Healthy Carolina will be announced in the next College Health in Action Newsletter for ACHA.
They will also be given the award at the ACHA conference awards banquet and have a choice for a poster session/presentation at the 2015 ACHA conference or an article summarizing the program in an upcoming College Health in Action newsletter.
