Jessica Johnston, director of Healthy Carolina, Mary Ann Young, nurse manager and registered nurse for Student Health Services’ Women’s Care, and Campus Wellness registered dietitian Lisa Money all received awards for their outstanding performances in their respective areas.
Johnston and Young were honored at the 2014 Southern College Health Association annual conference held on March 13-15, 2014.
Johnston received the 2014-2015 Charles F. Bohmann Award, which is presented to outstanding leaders who establish impressive standards for excellence, service, dedication and contributions to the field of college health.
Young, who received the Bohmann Award in 2007-2008, was given the 2014 Career Achievement Award in recognition of her contribution to the founding and growth of the field of college health.
Money received the Outstanding Dietetic Internship Preceptor Award from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control earlier this month. Money was nominated for the award by one of her student interns, who said, “Lisa was fully committed to my growth. She selflessly gave of her time and knowledge to further my development and was always focused on my needs before her own.”
“Congratulations to the entire Health Center Team for bringing such high distinction to our professional staff, to our programs, to our Health Center, and to the University of South Carolina,” Debbie Beck, director of Student Health Services said. “These are accolades that are well deserved.”
