USC tobacco-free campus

For the health of all Gamecocks, the University of South Carolina Columbia campus is tobacco-free. This means the use of all tobacco products is prohibited anywhere on university property including all buildings, facilities, grounds and spaces leased, owned or controlled by the university. Any university owned vehicles, or personal vehicles on university property are covered within the policy as well.

Tobacco-derived or containing products under this policy include, but are not limited to, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos, pipes, water pipes, smokeless tobacco products or substitutions, or any other device intended to stimulate smoked tobacco.

Enforcement of the Tobacco Free USC Policy relies on the entire campus community. There are many resources available to assist students, faculty or staff members with enforcing the policy. A short video is available about the policy and demonstrates how to approach someone who is violating the policy. For information on the policy and resources for quitting tobacco please visit the Tobacco-free website. Thank you for making our campus a healthy place to live, learn, work and play.
