UofSC launches nationwide search for next provost

The university is conducting a nationwide search for a distinguished scholar and accomplished administrator to serve as the next Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. The successful candidate will replace Dr. Michael D. Amiridis who was recently selected as the new Chancellor of the University of Illinois – Chicago.

The services of R. William Funk & Associates, a search firm specializing in higher education, have been retained. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate candidates for this position. Nominations should be directed to krisha.creal@rwilliamfunk.com

website has been established to facilitate this search and will be used to post information on the position, the search process and to receive any questions or suggestions for the search. It includes a more extensive position description, the list of committee members and co-chairs and the contact information for the search firm.

A forum will be held Monday, March 2, 1-3 p.m. in the Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library, Program Room #132. Questions, suggestions and nominations will be welcomed.
