As part of RecycleMania, Carolina Recycling is hosting an E-Waste Drive to collect unwanted personal electronics for recycling from university students, faculty and staff, as well as the Columbia community. Anything with a plug and all batteries will be accepted. There is a $5 recycling fee for CRT monitors and $10 fee for CRT televisions, however all other items will be recycled free of charge. The drive will be Friday, March 27 from noon-6 p.m. in the parking lot across from the Colonial Life Arena (852 Greene St.). Participants can drive through the recycling area and volunteers will be available to help unload items from each car.
The drive is not the appropriate way to dispose of university property and only personal items will be accepted. University electronics should be taken to Consolidated Services for appropriate inventory control.
