Registration is now open for a free hearing screening which is part of the Healthy Aging Initiative. Approximately 20% of adults in the United States report some degree of hearing loss and 60% of people with hearing loss are either in the work force or in educational settings, according to the Hearing Loss Association of America, 2015.
In collaboration with UofSC’s Hearing and Speech Research Center, Student Health Services is offering a free 10 minute screening with a trained Audiologist. Referrals will be made to the appropriate resources if needed. The screening will take place Friday, April 24 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Blatt P.E. Center. The registration deadline is Wednesday, April 22 and space is limited. Please bring Carolina Card IDs to the appointment
If you have questions about the screening, please call the Campus Wellness office at 803-777-6518.
