USC Mental Health Services vs. National Average

The University of South Carolina’s counseling services are providing better mental health support than the national average of other institutions with 30,000-35,000 students, according to a 2016 Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD) survey.

For the 2015-2016 academic year, 3,048 USC students, or 9.5 percent of the campus population, saw a Student Health Services counselor. A national average of 2,220 students, or 7.53 percent of enrollment, saw a campus counselor, according to the 2016 AUCCCD survey.
