Staff Notes

Pam Bowers, Student Affairs and Academic Support, and Cameron Howell, Administration and Finance, led a policy talk titled “Staying Afloat in the Flood of Data: Achieving success for institutions and students,” with officers from the College Board, Education Advisory Board and the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center at the Association for Education Finance and Policy’s annual conference in Washington, D.C.

Aimee Hourigan and Emily Epting, Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, presented “Marijuana and Other Leafy Greens: What’s the Harm” at the National Association of Social Workers South Carolina Chapter Spring Symposium.

Brooke Chehoski, Substance Abuse Prevention and Education, and Rhonda DiNovo, social work, presented “Motivational Interviewing in the Real World” at the National Association of Social Workers South Carolina Chapter Spring Symposium.

Joahn Sperry, lead advocate for Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention and Prevention, received the 2017 Honored Victim Advocate Award by the National Organization for Victim Assistance.
