Anna Edwards has been named interim associate vice president for student life. Beginning July 1, she will oversee athletics tickets for students; campus recreation; fraternity and sorority life; multicultural student affairs; off-campus student services; parents programs; the Russell House University Union and its associated programs, including leadership and community service; substance abuse prevention and education; and student media.
Edwards joined the Department of Student Life in 2005 and has held positions of increasing responsibility. As the current director of student services, she leads fraternity and sorority life, off-campus student services and substance abuse prevention and education.
She earned a doctorate in educational administration and a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of South Carolina. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and speech and communication studies from Clemson University.
Edwards succeeds Jerry Brewer, who will retire from his position as associate vice president for student life and development June 30. Brewer will continue to work with Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support development and Department of Student Life facilities.
The division will conduct a national search for a permanent associate vice president for student life in the fall semester.
